So you might have missed me lately…
…Or maybe you didn’t even notice I haven’t posted in a while?
Anyway… I just got done with a weekend of NCHEA. (The annual Nebraska Homeschool Conference.) I am on staff for the Kid’s Conference side of things. Basically we take care of 300+ homeschool kids for 2 days while their parents attend the adult conference to purchase their curriculum, listen to speakers, and just generally be encouraged. It’s a total blast!!! We plan for it 6-8 months prior to the Conference each year, but it’s COMPLETELY all-consuming once it gets close!
In hindsight, a heads up that I would be tooootally falling off the map BEFORE would have been better, but by the time I realized I was a goner, it was too late.
Kinda like riding a roller coaster.
When you’re going up that enormous incline, make sure to start screaming BEFORE you go racing back down, otherwise you’ll be petrified and unable to make a sound. And if you’re unable to make a sound, generally you’ll look like this guy third from the front.
Or maybe that’s just me? Cause I’m pretty sure that’s how I look on roller coasters. Wanna laugh? Check out The 31 Greatest Roller Coaster Pictures.
Anyway… I digress…
I’ll return shortly with my regularly programmed posts.
Let me just recover from the roller coaster ride! 😉
So Handsome Man came home with this other day…
And come to think if it…
I never even asked him where he got it!
It has decent bones and I’m looking forward to showing you what I do with it! 🙂
Since this adorable munchkin is crawling everywhere, it’s become quite evident that we needed to install a door in the hallway with stairs that go to the basement and outside.
Handsome Man was going to be at Menards, so I mentioned he should look in the bargain door area for an interior door that might fit.
And whatdoyaknow they had one! Exactly what I would have picked.
And *drumroll* it was only 10 bucks people! That’s what I’m talking’ about!!!
We <3 you Menards. 😉
Have I mentioned lately how much I appreciate that Handsome Man is so good at this kind of stuff? It’s just plain fantastic!
Slid right in there and fit nearly perfectly!
It’s still not pretty yet as I just finished caulking it.
But TODAY I think I’ll paint it!
And it will be gorgeous!
It really does finish off the space!
And best of all, I can keep the munchkin away from the tools.
She really makes a beeline for tools. Especially sharp ones. Yeash!
It’s like she takes after her parents of something.
Yes… It’s been a while since I did one of my Pins of the Week posts…
So without further ado…
Okay… so how fun is this?? Even just for a “playroom” type of thing?
This is one of those rooms that makes me happy-sigh. I love the elegant marble paired with the cozy plank walls. The tile in the shower. The low contrast calming look. I just love.
Speaking of bathrooms and tile… I like the throwback look of the hex tile with the updated look of the use of marble material. Great choice by Chiot’s Run.
Even though I’m not really involved with the storefront any more, my eye is naturally caught by exceptional retail ideas. This is no exception! How cool is this clothing display rack? I mean really? Awesome.
And since we’re on a roll with retail inspiration… How is this for an idea from Create and Babble? I can see it being awesome for a couple rows of bracelets? Cool, no?
This could almost be called the “kids-room/bathroom/retail inspiration post,” couldn’t it? I really do love this idea from Perfectly Imperfect! I can’t wait to see the rest of the room when it’s completed!
I think this is a precious idea too by Inner Child Learning! These story stones are adorable! Not to mention all the other ideas in this post!
Little heavy on the kid’s ideas this week I think! 😉
Great idea from Cup of Jo!
Okay… So always a sucker for gray, white, wood, and subway tile! Awesome kitchen makeover by The Inspired Room.
Seriously I laughed and laughed and laughed!
You might remember my chevron spree a few weeks back…
I chevron-ed this table…
A few other things…
Some chevron signs.
First I stained and painted the various boards…
Then… Using my stencil from Cutting Edge, I used my foam roller and rolled away.
Then I grabbed my wire and needle nose pliers…
Then I drilled a few holes to attach my wire words…
I made them to take up to the shop.
Let’s just say I fell in love with them and kept one of course!
The rest I delivered up to Tekamah… We’ll see how long they stick around. 😉

A couple weeks ago during my chevron spree, I did this simple DIY pin board makeover…
No before pics, as per usual… *eye roll*
But just imagine a ratty old pin board…
A little paint…
Some ribbon and wire…
And taaaa-daa! New cute chevron pin board!
